The Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy
Gayle just completed an intensive Neurologic Music Therapy Training in Houston is now a Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT)! What that means is that in addition to traditional music therapy, she can provide specific techniques in working with individuals who need help with cognitive, speech and sensorimotor functions. This could include people who are recovering from a stroke or traumatic brain injury. It is also helpful to individuals with neurologic disorders like Parkinson’s, MS and Alzheimer’s. A neurologic music therapist uses music as a primary tool to help achieve therapeutic goals like gait training, speech production and cognitive stimulation.
